Hi, I'm Jordan
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expatriate based in Ottawa, Canada.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Canada wasn't part of the plan for the long term. Like many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Whis Pering Field
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial travel content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from everyday life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- This site provides practical insights from living in Canada
- It concentrates on family life and everyday realities
- It gets updated when genuine changes occur
This site ISN'T:
- an official tourism authority resource
- a platform for paid reviews
- a generic travel diary
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada goes on, as does the journey of learning. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue to document our discoveries.
If you have questions about family life in Ottawa or anywhere in Canada, don't hesitate to contact me.
